So..I was recently contacted by a new fitness/sportswear brand called Born Tough. I hadn’t heard of them before but their clothes looked high quality and slightly more casual than most sportswear which I like so I thought why not give them a try. I ordered one item for me and one for my partner.
In their about me section of the website it describes their items as ‘Sportswear that you can go and grab a cup of coffee in, incorporating highest quality fabrics with great concern for what technology you might need to use or store while wearing our products.’
Women Contoured Tracksuit Bottom in the colour Rose and in size XS. I am 5’2 and a size 6 and they were the right size for me.
Now being petite I didn’t expect them to fit perfectly as most sportswear leggings are baggy for me round the ankle. However, when these bottoms arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Never has a pair of joggers fit so perfectly, and they are nice and tight so I would say they are more like jogger leggings.
I went for a run in them, went to dance class twice in them and even wore them out to meet friends. I had compliments on them from my dance friends and they stood up well in a vigorous dance class so I was impressed.
They have a pocket on one side which is deep enough to fit a phone in. I love anything with pockets as it makes life so much easier.
I loved the colour of these (they are more true to the colour shown on the website than how they look in my photos – the camera adds light of course). It’s nice to have a different pair of leggings/joggers to work out in that aren’t black or grey. The drawstring is adjustable round the waist and amazingly – they fit my skinny ankles so I was really happy with them.
I ordered the Born Tough Core Fit Tshirt in Grey and in a size S (small).
As you can see it’s tighter round the bottom to keep it in place and has enough room for him to move. It’s more of a relaxed fit round the body and he personally doesn’t like things skin tight but some people do to see their abs and muscles so I would say order a size smaller than what you normally would.
I think it comes up slightly big for him and he’s 6 foot tall so maybe if they could offer an XS for men it would be a bit better. Depends how tight you like your t-shirts to be really.
There is a reflective Born Tough logo on the back of the T-shirt which is perfect for runners; especially if you are running at night time. It doesn’t have the logo on the sleeve though like it shows on the website.
He said he loved the feel of the material as it was soft and high quality but not too thick. Would be good if it had some kind of sweat resistant material under the arm but that’s just a suggestion I would make for all gym tops.
