Christmas Party Dresses Under £15

December 17, 2019 by PetiteAvenue No Comments

Christmas; the time of year we have no money but still have to find some from somewhere to buy ourselves a new outfit for the Christmas Party.

This is where Femme Luxe comes in – they are super affordable yet unique.

Let’s start with the Grey Glitter Cross Back Bodycon Mini Dress – Karen

So my body type is very different to the models on the websites; I don’t have large boobs and I’m only 5’2 so it’s good for me to show you what these dresses look like on other body types. In my case, petite body types 🙂

It has the cutest little sweetheart neckline at the front which really accentuates your boobies, and even if you only have small ones; once you have your stick on bra in place it will still give you a great shape.

This dress is a steal at only £9.99 and It is adjustable at the back so you can tighten it to fit your body shape. It has a slight hip shape to the bottom so is perfect for the hour glass figure. If you’re daring and comfortable you can wear it with no bra, but if like me you’re not a fan of the nip on show then just wear a stick on bra or stick on nipple covers. They actually do them in a lot of shops for quite cheap and are always useful to have with backless dresses.

It’s not too short and I probably could have ordered it in the 6 but I didn’t want it to be too tight so this one I ordered in a size 8.

The next dress perfect for your Christmas meal if you want an LBD. It is the Black Front Pleat Strapless Mini Dress- Cora.

Because the dress has ruffled material at the front and around the chest area it doesn’t matter if you have smaller boobs like mine. I also don’t have big hips and bum like the models on the website but the ruffles give me a bit of shape.

It’s also not too short – this size is a size 6 and just about fits so I would say it comes up not too tight and I needed a strapless bra to keep it up.

A lot of people don’t like to wear black because they want a bit of sparkle but this has a cute little sash on the side which makes it unique and you could always add a pair of sparkly heels and clutch bag to go with it.

Again at only £9.99 this dress is an absolute bargain so you don’t need to spend lots to look classy.

Last but not least is the Stone Milkmaid Bardot Bodycon Mini Dress – Jett

Now I know you may be thinking it doesn’t seem like your initial choice for a Christmas dress – but team it with some gold jewelry, gold sparkly handbag and heels and it looks beautiful.

#gotmilk

This dress is the shortest and tightest of the 3 – I ordered it in a size 6 because otherwise the top half would have been too baggy. You can adjust the top by tightening the bow at the front. I would suggest wearing a strapless bra with this so the boob parts don’t sag down.

Also this dress is so versatile as you can wear it to a festival with chunky trainers or boots. On the other hand it can be dressed up for a night out with heels. And for a third option it’s so cute and such a nice pastel colour that you can wear it on holiday with chunky sandals during the day or evening.

It’s so cute and girly, and most of my friends know how much of a Tom boy I am at times so it’s nice to be girly once in a while

So head on over to Femme Luxe now and check out their discounts of the Christmas Party Dresses collection

Femme Luxe

November 21, 2019 by PetiteAvenue No Comments

So I’ve neglected my blog for a while to work on my acting. However, recently I have been contacted by a fashion brand called Femme Luxe and have been lucky enough to collaborate with them. I’ve never ordered from there before but they have a lot of choice so i thought I’d like to try them out. I chose a few pieces from the range to review for you all so here they are:

The first piece that stood out to me was the Pink Ribbed Bardot Frill Crop Top & Skirt Co-ord – Lida which can be found in the co-ord section of the Femme Luxe website.

I found this different to other co-ord sets I have found because of the edging of the material which is quite unique. The pink frill really made it stand out for me. I also like the fact that you can have the belt as tight as you like to pull my tummy in.

This co-ord set can be dressed up with heels or even worn with boots for a festival or a more casual night. It pretty much suits any show of your choice as people will be looking at the cute frills of course and not your feet 🙂

The set has a cute little belt around the skirt which can be taken off if you like. So you could choose to wear your own belt with it instead as it has belt loops attached to the actual skirt which is great.

This co-ord can also be dressed down with a pair of chunky trainers which I decided to go out in – heels are hard work sometimes lol. The material is not see through and it stretches enough for your body shape. This set is available in a size 6 up to a size 12 for us petite ladies and was comfortable to wear the whole night. This item I bought in a size 8

You can pick up this co-ord for just £13.99 which is a steal by clicking here

The next piece I chose was from the Loungewear section of the website. It’s called the Grey Loungewear Tracksuit Set – Maria

This stood out to me because of the little flecks pattern on the material – I’m not a face of anything too plain as you may be able to notice so this is slightly different to other lounge wear sets. The price is great too as you are receiving two items and not just one so works out like £7 per item – bargain!

I have never actually owned a loungewear set myself so this was a first time for me. It’s nice to have something you can pop to the shops in quickly.

#lounging

This set is super comfy and also comes in black. It’s not too tight round the waist and they also do a cropped top version. I got a Small and the top is very roomy so not too tight. The material is not thick so you won’t get too hot if you decide to fall asleep in it 🙂 Nice and soft and also thin enough to wear in summer. I would say the smallest size which I have on is around a size 8 if you want a bit of room, or a size 10 if you want the bottoms to be a bit tighter fitted and more like legging joggers.

perfect for travelling/at the airport or just lounging at home or heading for a late night drive through. The bottoms are high waisted too which I like. You can find this cute loungewear set by clicking here for only £13.99

The last piece I chose was the Black Square Neck Midi Dress – Carly in a 6

My beautiful friend

Modelled by my lovely friend Daisy as I ordered it in a size 6 but my tummy was saying otherwise. Fortunately she has flat abs to pull this off as although it’s a nice light material – it still hugs you in all the right places.

Every girl needs an LBD and at £5.99!!!!! You literally cannot go wrong. This can even be worn with converse or boots and would still look amazing. I would suggest wearing a strapless bra with it to keep that nice square neck line and it goes from a size 6 up to a size 14. Daisy wears a size 6. There are plenty more black dresses like this in their Christmas collection.

From the back

Add a sparkly belt and bag to dress it up and wear with some perspex heels such as this pair here as they go with absolutely anything. To buy this dress simply click here and grab a bargain for your xmas meal

Head over to the Femme Luxe website now to make the most of the black Friday deals, they even have an under £5 collection. Femme Luxe also offers Klarna and Google Pay. To browse these particular items and to see their new special Christmas collections head on over to their website: https://femmeluxefinery.co.uk/

Festival Fashion

May 11, 2017 by PetiteAvenue No Comments

So Festival season is finally here and what better way to celebrate than a massive shop right? You want to make sure you get your outfit right so always check the weather before you go and don’t let the rain put you off; especially with the wide range of gorgeous macs and raincoats out there.

The first one that caught my eye was this metallic rain coat from Topshop. It’s a super thick material so will keep your outfit protected and also shines beautifully in the light. You will definitely stand out in this and with some metallic face paint to match you will look super cute. (For festival make up see my Make Up page)

The next item that caught my eye is from Monsoon and is this sequined bumbag. It is from the children’s section so you will need a tiny waist but it looks so pretty with any outfit. A bum bag is a festival essential; don;t be one of those who knocks everyone out with a massive rucksack; keep everything close to your body.

Now everyone knows I am a mermaid so obviously I can’t resist when it comes to bodysuits like these. I love to paint mermaid scales on my face in the summer so these sequined scaled bodysuits are perfect for me; and any other mermaids out there. This one is from Pretty Little Thing but it does have a thong fit at the back so only for the daring.

This leather tassle belt is probably my favourite buy of the year so far. As you can see I am having so much fun in it; just be careful when walking up stairs as you will tread on it by accident. It will pretty much go over anything so is also great for holidays over a bikini or black shorts and crop top

When it comes to summer I am like a magpie; I love anything shiny and metallic so these skirts really caught my eye. This silver skirt has a zip front and is from Pretty Little thing.

The holographic top is super thin so perfect for dancing the day and night away. It ties up as tight as you need it too and goes perfectly with anything grey/silver.

This gold metallic skirt is by Rare London and fits absolutely perfectly. However if you are planning on going on your mates shoulders like I do I wouldn’t recommend it as it is a snug fit. I love the way it curves down at the back and the front as it gives you a really nice shape.

Surprise surprise I chose another mermaid bralet to go with it; this one however is made of metal which is quite heavy and can be chilly against your skin. I wear clear or skin colour stick on boobs underneath to protect from any injury and to keep my dignity in tact hahaa. It may be a pain to get on and does move about a bit but I feel like a mermaid in it so it’s worth it.

Last but not least in my festival line up is this knitted multi-coloured maxi dress

Although it looks thick: because it’s full of holes it is actually very airy and light to wear. You can wear whatever you like underneath and you will still see it in photos. As you can see you can wear whatever you like…

Pretty Little Thing

May 3, 2017 by PetiteAvenue No Comments

OK so don’t judge me but I have never bought anything from PrettyLittleThing.com before so I thought; well I run a fashion blog so I really should. I always see the adverts when I’m watching MTV and they are a very similar style to Boohoo to be honest. However; this one dress really stood out for me as I LOVE a high neck and I love anything mesh.

It did take me a while to find this dress on there so the search process could be a bit easier but eventually I found it. Obviously it is a bit revealing for the winter and is more of a festival outfit but I have most of my festival tickets already so for me the preparation starts now 🙂

The only thing that annoys me about these kind of dresses is that the labels are always white. Note to the makers; if you are making a black see-through dress, please make the label black too. Obviously I can cut it out but it still leaves a little bit of white showing…grrr!

For a festival dress this is very comfortable and stretchy but also very thin so take a jacket for if it’s gets chilly in the eve (yes I sound like your mum lol)

You can buy the dress yourself here

Topshop Petite Outfit for Autumn

April 1, 2017 by PetiteAvenue No Comments

So Topshop and I have always had an up and down relationship; but the Petite section of the store in Oxford street never fails to disappoint. There is so much more choice there than other stores and the customer service is great.

Being a blogger does have it’s perks and sometimes they will offer you the stylist suite with extra big changing rooms.

For this particular look I chose some wet look/leather look skin tight trousers which they had lots of different styles of. This particular pair are elasticated round the waist and they also have a zip so although they are tight they do a have a bit of give for my little pot belly. You can grab yours here

The built in choker top is also from Topshop Petite and is slightly cropped which I love as it shows off the trousers. It is a tiny bit low cut for me but if you have the cleavage to show it off then you go girl/guy!

I teamed the look with a high top pair of converse in limited edition white denim Converse and a pom-pom head band from Primark. Sunglasses are from Ebay as I like to have something from different than what’s in the shops
